Bousquet Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec

If you see either of these two wines at Costco FO …… buy them. Priced at $13.99 they are selling out quickly. Both have awesome aromas of blackberry and black currant but the smooth, silky finish is what sells this wine. Both are full bodied with excellent structure and a long finish. Produced from Organic grapes from Mendoza these wines carry a rating of 90 on the Cab and 92 on the Malbec … however your Costco Wine Consultant feels these rating are low, giving them 93 and 94 respectfully. Grab a couple bottles of these great wines on your next visit.

Cheers!

Chateau Peynaud-Bagnac 2012 Bordeaux $5.99

Normally my comment would be “a $6 Bordeaux is a $6 Bordeaux” …… however there are exceptions to every rule! Costco FO has the 2012 Chateau Peynaud-Blagnac on sale for $5.99 per 750ml bottle and this a value. This Bordeaux obliviously is not a 1982 Chateau Rothschild ….. but at this price it’s something worth having in your cellar. This is a smooth, wood-aged wine with aromas of ripe black fruits with a contrast of toast and spice. It’s juicy with just the right amount of tannins. This wine is ready to drink but could be aged for several years. This wine has a Best Buy rating of 89. This wine normally sells in the $10 range!! Cheers!!!!

Aurum Amarone Della Valpolicella Classico DOGC 2011

Most people probably are not aware of Amarone wines. These wines are from the Veneto region of Italy and are made using the recioto method of drying the grapes, which intensifies the flavor and produces a higher alcohol content. This wine uses primarily the Corvina grape (80%) with the balance being Molinara and Rondinella. This wine is aged in American and French oak casks for 18-24 months and if stored correctly it may be aged in the bottle for another 10 years. This wine is deep purple in color and has the aromas of ripe fruit, plum, and vanilla. This wine is dense on the palate, with balanced aromas and soft tannins that gives a light pull on the long …. long finish. This is a super Amarone with both elegance and length. Enjoy this special wine with roasted or grilled meats, game, and ripe cheeses. Priced at $29.99 this wine is ideal for that special occasion or celebration!! This awesome wine is available at your FO Costco. Cheers!
