Bousquet Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec

If you see either of these two wines at Costco FO …… buy them. Priced at $13.99 they are selling out quickly. Both have awesome aromas of blackberry and black currant but the smooth, silky finish is what sells this wine. Both are full bodied with excellent structure and a long finish. Produced from Organic grapes from Mendoza these wines carry a rating of 90 on the Cab and 92 on the Malbec … however your Costco Wine Consultant feels these rating are low, giving them 93 and 94 respectfully. Grab a couple bottles of these great wines on your next visit.

Cheers!

Browne 2012 Tribute

When a winemaker produces a Tribute wine dedicated to his two sons ….. you can expect one awesome wine!! This silky red blend offers big fruit flavors and well integrated velvety tannins. It has aromas of pipe tobacco, leather, and dark fruit layer along with boysenberry flavors and a hint of black pepper. The finish lingers with blackberry jam and toasty, graphic black notes. This blend of 32% Cab, 11% Malbec, 38% Merlot, 5% Cab Franc, and 11% Petit Verdot is aged for 22 months in 35% new oak with the balance being 2nd and 3rd use mixed oak. This wine had a Wine Spectator rating of 91 and a Costco Wine Consultant rating of 95!!! This wine pairs well with grilled meats and works well with rosemary and peppercorn. Priced at retail outlets in the $26-30 range, this outstanding wine is available at Costco FO for $19.99.

Pick up a bottle of the Browne 2012 Tribute for that special occasion!!!

Kirkland Signature Old Vine Zinfandel

This wine has a super floral on the nose as well as spicy notes on the nose as the wine hits your palate. You get lots of dark fruit flavor …. blackberry, blueberry, and then just a hint of leather on the finish with more spice. This wine has a nice ripe texture and is a wine ready for drinking. Priced at $9.99 at the FO Costco this is a wine you need to try.

Cheers!

Chateau Peynaud-Bagnac 2012 Bordeaux $5.99

Normally my comment would be “a $6 Bordeaux is a $6 Bordeaux” …… however there are exceptions to every rule! Costco FO has the 2012 Chateau Peynaud-Blagnac on sale for $5.99 per 750ml bottle and this a value. This Bordeaux obliviously is not a 1982 Chateau Rothschild ….. but at this price it’s something worth having in your cellar. This is a smooth, wood-aged wine with aromas of ripe black fruits with a contrast of toast and spice. It’s juicy with just the right amount of tannins. This wine is ready to drink but could be aged for several years. This wine has a Best Buy rating of 89. This wine normally sells in the $10 range!! Cheers!!!!

Waterbrook Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve

Looking for a Caberent Sauvignon with a rich, lingering finish? Then you should try the Waterbrook Reserve Cab. This beautiful wine is made of 78% Caberent Sauvignon, 17% Merlot, and 5% Malbec, which gives this wine nice leathery and fresh tobacco aromatics and flavors of juicy blueberry and black cherry, as well as mineral driven notes that are supported by refined, silky tannins. This wine has a long, rich finish. This is a beautiful wine to drink now but will continue to improve with age over the next few years. This wine is aged 23 months in 32% new oak. This Columbia Valley wine is priced at $17.99 at the Fort Oglethorpe Costco. This wine is priced at $24.99 on Amazom.com. This will be a nice addition to your cellar! Cheers!

2012 Starmont Chardonnary

Costco has a deal on the 2012 Starmont Chardonnary! Normally priced at $14.99 at Costco, this beautiful wine is on sale through April 10th for $9.99! That is correct ……. $9.99! In other wine stores this wine sells for $16 – $18.
Starmont is a integral part of the Merryvale family. The winery is located at the crossroads of Caneros and Napa Valley and occupies a portion of the historic Stanly Ranch. This wine is bright, vibrant gold in color, with aromas of ripe apple, mandarin, Asian pear, nutmeg, vanilla bean, and fresh mineral notes. Starting with a fresh, soft entry, which leads to a medium bodied, mid-palate wine, with generous volume and medium acidity, and ends with a clean medium length finish with flavors of Apple tart, ripe pear, and a subtle oak toast and spice.

This wine is worth a trip to Costco FO just to purchase this awesome deal!

Cheers!
